Can I bring hard-shell suitcases on a yacht?

No. Hard-shell luggage cannot be stored aboard most yachts. Use soft-sided duffel bags or collapsible travel bags that can be folded and stowed in limited cabin storage. Your crew will unpack for you on arrival.

Do I need formal attire for a yacht charter?

Smart casual is the standard for evening dining aboard. For Mediterranean charters, a linen shirt and trousers or a summer dress is appropriate. Only bring formal wear if your itinerary includes a specific event like the Monaco Grand Prix gala.

What shoes should I bring?

White-soled or non-marking deck shoes are essential — dark soles leave marks on teak decks. Bring comfortable sandals for shore excursions and dressier shoes for evenings ashore. Leave high heels at home.

Should I bring my own water sports equipment?

No. Charter yachts come fully equipped with water toys including jet skis, paddleboards, snorkelling gear, wakeboards, and inflatable toys. Your crew will set everything up for you.

What about sunscreen?

Bring reef-safe, mineral-based sunscreen (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide). Chemical sunscreens damage coral reefs and can stain teak decks and upholstery. Many charter yachts now require reef-safe products only.

How much should I pack?

Less than you think. A 7-day charter typically requires 3-4 daytime outfits, 3-4 evening outfits, swimwear, and a light layer. Laundry service is available daily aboard most superyachts.
