Overview
The Bahamas: A Yacht Charter Paradise
The Bahamas, an archipelago of 700 islands and cays scattered across the turquoise Atlantic, is a premier destination for luxury yacht charters. Located just 50 miles off the coast of Florida, this island nation offers an idyllic escape with its sugar-white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a laid-back atmosphere that is second to none. The Bahamas is a paradise for those seeking both relaxation and adventure, with a diverse range of activities and experiences to suit every taste.
Why The Bahamas is Ideal for Yacht Charter
A yacht charter in The Bahamas offers the ultimate freedom to explore this stunning archipelago at your own pace. With hundreds of islands and cays to discover, many of which are uninhabited, a private yacht provides the perfect platform for island hopping and discovering hidden gems. The shallow, calm waters of The Bahamas are ideal for cruising, and the numerous anchorages and marinas provide safe and convenient havens for your vessel.
Ideal For
Yacht Recommendation
A 30–50m motor yacht with shallow draft and stabilizers is essential for the Bahamas. The Exuma Cays require careful navigation through shallow waters, and a well-equipped tender is crucial for island exploration and beach hopping.

YOUR JOURNEY
130 nautical miles across 7 extraordinary destinations. This is a sample itinerary — your captain will tailor every detail to your preferences.

Day 1
Arrive at Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau and be transferred to your luxury yacht, waiting for you at Hurricane Hole Marina on Paradise Island. Settle in and enjoy a welcome cocktail as you meet the crew and discuss your personalized itinerary.
Enjoy a delicious lunch on board, prepared by your private chef, as you take in the stunning views of the marina and the surrounding turquoise waters. In the afternoon, you can explore Paradise Island, home to the iconic Atlantis Resort. You can visit the resort's marine habitat, which is home to over 50,000 aquatic animals, or try your luck at the casino.
For dinner, you have a variety of options. You can dine at one of the many world-class restaurants at Atlantis, such as Nobu for Japanese cuisine or Café Martinique for classic French fare. Alternatively, you can enjoy a more intimate dinner on board your yacht, under the stars.

Graycliff has the third-largest wine cellar in the world with over 250,000 bottles. Ask for a private cellar tour.

Day 2
After breakfast, your yacht will depart from Paradise Island and cruise to the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, a 176-square-mile marine preserve. Your destination for the day is Warderick Wells Cay, the park's headquarters.
Upon arrival, you can go for a swim or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the “petting zoo,” where you can feed the friendly Wall-Eyed Jacks right from the back of your yacht. You can also explore the island's numerous walking trails, which offer stunning views of the surrounding cays and the turquoise sea.
Enjoy a delicious dinner on board your yacht, surrounded by the pristine natural beauty of the Exuma Cays. As the sun sets, you can relax on the deck and gaze at the star-filled sky.
#
Visit the swimming pigs in the morning when they're most active and friendly. Bring some fruit — they love watermelon.

Day 3
Today, you will continue your journey south through the Exumas to Staniel Cay. Along the way, you will stop at Big Major's Spot, home of the famous swimming pigs. You can swim with these friendly creatures and feed them from your tender.
After your encounter with the swimming pigs, you will continue to Staniel Cay. Here, you can explore the Thunderball Grotto, a stunning underwater cave system that was featured in the James Bond movies "Thunderball" and "Never Say Never Again." You can snorkel or dive in the grotto and admire the colorful coral and fish.
For dinner, you can dine at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, a popular spot for boaters and locals alike. The restaurant serves a variety of Bahamian and international dishes, and the bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and socialize with fellow travelers.
#
Enter Thunderball Grotto at low tide when the entrance is above water. Inside, shafts of light create an otherworldly underwater cathedral.

Day 4
From Staniel Cay, you will cruise to Compass Cay, a beautiful island known for its crescent-shaped beach and friendly nurse sharks. You can swim with these gentle creatures in the shallow waters of the marina.
After your swim with the sharks, you can relax on the beach or explore the island's natural beauty. You can also take a dip in Rachel's Bubble Bath, a natural Jacuzzi formed by the waves crashing over the rocks.
Enjoy a barbecue dinner on the beach, prepared by your crew. As the sun sets, you can relax by the bonfire and listen to the sound of the waves.
#
Staniel Cay has a population of about 100 people and no cars — just golf carts. It's the most charming settlement in the Exumas.

Day 5
Today, you will cruise to Shroud Cay, an uninhabited archipelago of cays and rocks. Here, you can explore the mangrove creeks on a jet ski or tender, and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters to see the local sanctuary fish.
After your exploration of the mangroves, you can relax on one of the island's stunning beaches. You can also go for a swim or try your hand at paddleboarding or kayaking.
Enjoy a quiet dinner on board your yacht, surrounded by the untouched beauty of Shroud Cay.
#
Warderick Wells is the headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park — no fishing allowed, so the marine life is extraordinary.

Day 6
Rise early and take the tender for a deep-sea fishing trip off the east coast of Highbourne Cay. You can try your luck at catching grouper, snapper, or tuna. If fishing is not your thing, you can relax on the deck of your yacht and soak up the sun.
Highbourne Cay is home to eight deserted beaches, all within walking distance of the marina. You can spend the afternoon exploring these pristine beaches, or go for a dive or snorkel off the cay's drop-off, a 23-meter vertical wall that is teeming with marine life.
For dinner, you can dine at the Highbourne Cay Marina, which offers a variety of fresh seafood and other local specialties.
#
The mangrove creek at Shroud Cay acts like a natural lazy river — the tidal current gently carries your kayak through a tunnel of green.

Day 7
Enjoy a final breakfast on board your yacht as you cruise to Allan's Cay. Here, you can see the local Bahamian iguanas, which are a protected species. You can feed them a banana or two from a safe distance.
After your visit with the iguanas, you will cruise back to Nassau. You can enjoy a final swim in the blue Bahamian waters before disembarking at Hurricane Hole Marina.
For your final evening in The Bahamas, you can enjoy a farewell dinner at one of Nassau's many fine-dining restaurants, or have a final celebration on board your yacht with your crew.
Pick up a bottle of John Watling's rum from the distillery in Nassau — it's distilled in a beautiful colonial estate.
