Modern superyachts are equipped with advanced stabilizers that significantly reduce the motion of the yacht, both while cruising and at anchor. If you are particularly prone to motion sickness, you can discuss this with your broker. They can recommend yachts known for their stability and plan itineraries in calmer, more protected waters.

Is a yacht charter safe?

Absolutely. Safety is the number one priority. Superyachts are built and maintained to the highest safety standards, and the crew are professionally trained and certified in safety and first aid procedures. Your captain will conduct a safety briefing at the start of your charter.

Can we bring children on a charter?

Of course! A yacht charter is a fantastic family vacation. Crews are often wonderful with children and can tailor activities and menus to suit younger guests. Your broker can help you select a yacht that is particularly family-friendly, with features like safety nets, specific water toys, and an experienced, kid-loving crew.

What is a MYBA contract?

A MYBA (The Worldwide Yachting Association) contract is the industry-standard agreement for chartering a yacht. It is a legally binding document that has been refined over many years to be fair and protective for all parties involved—the charterer, the yacht owner, and the broker. It clearly outlines all the terms and conditions of the charter.

How much should I tip the crew?

Crew gratuity is discretionary but is a customary way to show appreciation for excellent service. The recommended amount is between 10% and 20% of the base charter fee. The tip should be given to the captain at the end of the charter, who will then distribute it amongst all crew members.
